African American Descent by Davon Brown
I was born into hardship, just look at the color of my skin
I never bleached my skin, this caramel brown has always been
All over my skin along with the strength to fight is built within
Now to my fellow brothers and sisters I consider my twins
But we have different irregular life paths
People outside looking in depict us as psychopaths
But our African American decent displays our smartness and strength
My devotion, optimism, and focus can not be compared to none
Limitations? They set upon everyone
These limitations are always trying to knock down our legacy
Like why? Is it jealousy?
Are you my unknown enemy?
You can’t accept my identity?
Oo well, I will continue to wake up loving myself and celebrating my life heavily
Author Bio: Hello World! My name is Davon Brown and I am a self published poet. I released my first poetry book in December of 2018 titled, "Poverty Turned Me Into A Monster" which outlines all the main events that shaped me into the person I am today! I want people to use me as an example of someone who pushed through all these obstacles that tried to pull me back and stop me from succeeding! USE ME AS AN EXAMPLE! You can get through whatever. THERE IS NOOO EXCUSE! In addition, I implemented a quote of the poem into my work of art and this is something I am geared towards doing in my new upcoming poetry book entitled "Short stories by the minute".
Quote Of The Poem = “I am a descendant of a whole bunch of Black folks who couldn’t be broken”
